Stephen Chetcuti The Club has appointed Stephen Chetcuti as Head of Youth Coaching. Stephen has moved to Hobart this year for work comittments, will be playing for the Lions and comes with an impressive personal soccer history. He played Junior soccer with Moreland Soccer Club in Melbourne, making State rep. three years and regional rep five years in a row. Signed his first contract with Moreland Seniors as a semi-pro at the age of 16. Played first Senior game at 16 in the Victorian First Division. Stayed at Moreland for three years and rejected offers to play National league and State League due to school. At 19 he signed with Sunshine George Cross in the National League, with varied appearances in National league and youth league. Due to University committments transfered to Polonia Soccer club in the State league. Won the Victorian State League Championship (now called the Premier League) and won one Best & Fairest. His contract was bought by Green Gully at 24, where he played for 8 years, 7 as captain, becoming assistant coach. He made full State rep. status at 28. He also played professionally in Malta in 1995 with Hamrun Spartans. Due to business and family, at age 32 retired from Green Gully and decided to step down to State league Div. One club Doncaster Rovers as just a player. With the club sitting on the bottom of the ladder and half way through the 1997 season, he took over as first team coach. He established a feeder system with Carlton Soccer Club and sub-feeder systems with Bulleen and Green Gully Soccer Clubs.

Professionally, Stephen has a degree in Electronic Engineering and Master of Business Administration. He is currently the Research & Development Manager of Aquasmart Pty Ltd. and sits on boards of other companies in Melbourne and Hong Kong.

Stephen's job at Kingborough will be to oversee all aspects of coaching in the Youth teams. He will also be taking a training run for each age group at least once a month along with the teams coaches.
