KLUSC Ironman
Last Sunday the club held its third Lions' Iron Man competition at Blackmans Bay beach.
In good conditions three teams of four underwent the four legs of running, riding, surf paddling and kayaking.
Team captains White, Csokas and Trotter selected their charges and the event was underway.
Team White took an early lead and were never headed despite a late slump when Iles had to finish the bike leg with a flat tire.
Team Trotter lamented the loss of their captain firstly as he had to don the scuba gear to retrieve lost glasses and then to depart for indoor soccer.
Team Csokas remained in contention to the end but couldn't quite bridge the gap.
Well done to Rob, Hendryk, Ziad, Trotts, Waz, Charlie, Wade, Mark, Matty, Sam G, Browny & Bear.
For the record, the winning team was Charlie, Waz, Wade & Mark.
