Under 12 Blue Match Report
Saturday, April 19, 2008 v Mt Nelson @ Hobart College
Match report :
All the boys played a great team game against Mt Nelson and it can be honestly be said that all the boys played well. From a coaches point of view I think that it is the best game the boys have played as a team. The boys dominated large portions of the game and Mt Nelson goals were constantly under pressure. The first half saw us crafted two well worked goals but against the run of played we did allow Mt Nelson to score. The second half saw us start a little slowly and our goal was under some pressure but our defence held firm. However after that first five minutes we took control of the game and add another two goal . The game certainly highlighted the teams fine passing, build ups and team play.
Sam has a fine game in goals in the first half and then as a striker in the second half, where he was able to finish off his good work with a finely worked goal. Adam once again broke down a number of their attacks with his well executed tackles. Haydn and Simon really held our defence together and a number of times they were the last line of defence. Josef and Callum both gave us solid run and were a great link between defence and attack. Dylan was another one of our solid midfields in the first half and then took up the goal keeping duties in the second half. During that period Dylan was required to pull off a couple of remarkable goal saving stops. Jeremy certainly enjoyed the freedom of being out of goal and was able to score two fantastic goals. His first was a fine individual goal which involved a fine run, beating of a number of tackle and end with an unstoppable shot on goal. James Mathews and Patrick were a constant threat to the Mt Nelson defence and just didn't stop running. James G had a great game in either defence or wing and it was great to have him back. Simeon show us all his fine ball control and blistering pace. He also was able to score a fine opportunists goal with a well pace long shot. Tom had a fine linking game and was always there to support his team mates. Tim And Alex gave our strikers a constant flow of great balls to run onto and control of the midfield area.
