Under 12 Blue Match Report
Saturday, May 24, 2008 v Margate @ Gormley Park

Match report :

It can be honestly said that our game against Margate wasn't one of our best. Being an early game the ground was very dewy and a number of our players were slipping and sliding in the conditions.

It all started off with us having Margate under pressure for the first ten minutes. The team had a number of good chances that just went wide or were saved by their goalkeeper. Much against the run of play Margate got us on the counter attack and scored.

The game then even out and it became end to ended play. The problem was that Margate were able to finish off their attacking movements and this was highlighted when they slotted home another goal, before half time.

The second half was very similar to the first and Kingborough just couldn't finish off their good team play. Margate on the other hand took their chances and they add another 3 goals to make it 5 - 0. A score that anyone who saw the game didn't really reflect the game and the number of chances we had.

Dylan spent all the game in goals and he did a fine job considering the number of attacks Margate had. Josef had a great game in defence and I lost count the number of attacks that he helped to break down. Simeon popped up all over the ground, whether with an important tackle in defence or a searching run at Margate's defence.

Haydn was another one in defence who help foil a number of Margate's attacking movements. Whether in defence or on the wing James G has become a very important member of this team and he give his all in whatever played position he is given. Alex helped to supply searching balls to our strikers or running at their defenders.

Adam if not tackling his opponents was able to force them wide to help break down their attacks. Tim has really become the engine room of the team and he starts a lot of our moves. Jeremy dropped back a number of times to help out our defenders and also had a number of good running movements.

Simon was his usual reliable defender in the first half. The second saw him thrown on the wing and he help launch a number of our attacks. James M and Patrick were a consent threat in attack and both were unlucky not to score. Tom was always there ready to support his teammates and contributed a number of important clearances. Callum is another one of our reliable team members who just goes about quietly doing whatever role is asked of him. He is the real quiet achiever of this team.

Its was a great effort by all the boys !!!
