Saturday, May 03, 2008 v West Hobart Wolves @ Gormley Park

Match report :

The game against West Hobart was another step forward in the boy's development.

We played as a team and work for each other and it can be honestly be said that everyone worked toward this victory. Most of the game was played in West Hobart's halve.

The game open with us immediately on attack and it was very much against the run of played that West Hobart opened the scoring. After that we continued our attacking movements and it was no really surprise when we equalised. Before the half time whistle blew we were able to add another two.

The second half was very much the same as the first and we were able to add another three goals. It really was a great team effort and players should be proud of their efforts. The defence all but shut West Hobart out of the game, while our midfield kept a constant flow of balls to our strikers. It was great to see how we were able to share the scoring around with five different players netting goals.

Sam had a great game, spending the first half in goals and doing what he need to do very well. In the second half he was thrown into attack, scored two well taken goals and played great link up soccer. Adam played his usual solid game in defence and he tackled his opponents with great success.

Simon helped break up a number of threatening situations moves and turned them into attacking moves. In the second half he was give more freedom and he popped up and scored a goal. Haydn was able to push up and linked up well with our midfielders and strikers. However he was still around in our defence to intercept a number of balls.

Simeon whole game can pretty much be summed up in one play that I was luck enough to see. He tackled and took possession of in the ball in our back half and it was great to see him take his opponents. To see his acceleration, ball control and running at their defence was just fantastic.

Patrick was able to get into a number of great positions and was a constant threat to their goal. Callum was another one to score a goal and had a fine game in our midfield. Tom has impressed me how well he has fitted into the team and his willingness to support.   James M just doesn't know when to stop and he never gives up.

James G was given a role on the wing and showed us just how well he can run with the ball and set up attacks. Tim at time just seemed to be everywhere and is ready to help and support his teammates. Jeremy enjoyed the freedom on the wing and he was able to score.

Dylan spent the first half in the midfield and played his part very well. In second half he took over the goalkeeping role and kept a clean sheet. Josef and Alex both who played their role very well and it was interesting to see how their skills have developed this year
