Saturday, April 12, 2008 v Princes St Knightriders @ Lightwood Park

Match report :

This was our first 6 a side game for the Season we took on Princes St at Lightwood Park. We started the game with 7 players as Ethan was recovering from surgery the day before (We hope you feel better soon). The game started with Will in goals who did a fine job. Maksim certainly had his running legs on today he covered alot of ground and did a great job keeping up with the opposition. Luca did a great job positioning himself in defence especially when it was our goalies turn to kick in. Hunter who is new to the team this Season has proved to be a great pick up he was on the ball and did a fantastic job. Finn and Lemuel both worked hard for the ball today and those legs were certainly kept busy. The second half seen Daniel move into the goals and certainly left his mark on that position.

Both sides had a number of attacks and everyone was hard at the ball. We only had to sub 1 player today which gave everyone a much needed 5 minute break. Princes St never gave an inch and the pace was well maintained. We had numerous defensive runs matched equally by several attacking runs. The boys were full of energy and pumped about their first game. Princes St looked very fit and played a fantastic game we had a few near goals but they ended up beating us by 8-0. Our boys did a fantastic job on the field and we look forward to each week as the team progresses. A big Thank You to Ian Ball for reffing our game today.
