Saturday, July 05, 2008 v Sandy Bay Infant Tassie Devils @ Mt Nelson Oval

Match report :

Kingborough White took on Sandy Bay Infant School on what would have been almost the coldest spot in Tassie. Sandy Bay played in their polar fleece jackets and majority of our kids in their beanies. The boys skated, ooops I mean played a game that could have been predictable given the climate. Both teams played 7 aside for this game just to give all the kids a run and to keep them as warm as we could. The boys did a great job given the climate but they were over powered with a 5 goal win to Sandy Bay.

The last half seen the Kingborough Lions red faced, frozen feet, cold and emotional, still they pulled together as a team to score a goal. What a great bunch on boys all there to support one another when every one of them was suffering from hypothermic conditions. Well done boys! We are looking forward to a warmer environment hopefully next game.
