Under 9 Girls Gold Match Report
Saturday, April 12, 2008 v Waimea Heights @ Lightwood Park
Match report :
A great start for the Gold Team, with all of the players running their legs off, and playing the game with big smiles on their faces. We had all eleven girls for the game, which meant a lot of movement on and off the field. Josie played in goals the first half, and Ruby in the second, with both girls doing a very good job of stopping the ball and sending some big kicks down field.
It was hard to keep track of players at times, with pony-tails flying and blue-and-black shirts running at pace, but all of the players did very well to try to control the ball and to defend our goals against the Waimea Heights team.
Gwendolyn, Annie, Charlotte and Lily seemed to enjoy the attacking positions and made many good runs with the ball. Isabelle, Laura, Grace, Ariane and Ashleigh did lots of hard work in the middle areas, and helped out with defending our goals, whilst Josie and Ruby also ran hard and played well in their on-field halves. The team scored several goals, and I think has the potential to score many more.
So, well done girls in your first game together, and I look forward to seeing you at training on Wednesday.
