Match report :

Another tough game at South Hobart, with the Gold Girls taking on the South Hobart Gliders, an U/10 team that has been placed in our age group due to insufficient teams in the older group.

In goals for the first half was Gwendolyn, who made several fine saves and clearance kicks. Goalie for the second half was Lily, and she was kept busy by the attack of the Gliders however did very well to stop several shots.

The girls showed a willingness to work hard on the field to win the ball. Charlotte and Isabelle were fearless in their tackling and passing, whilst Annie and Gwendolyn swept the ball forward with some pacy attacks on the Gliders' goal.

Ariane and Ruby enjoyed defending when required an made several good runs, whilst Laura and Josie worked hard in the middle to move the ball forward and to help defend.

Ashleigh and Grace were very involved in the game, passing to team-mates and moving forward when possible. Lily was very strong out on the field in the first half, and helped create several attacking opportunities.

It is very satisfying to see the girls approach the game in a sporting manner, and be prepared to get stuck in and work for the ball. This will lead to many more scoring opportunities.

Homework: dribbling (not food!) around the house or garden - both feet and trying to keep your head up.
