Kingborough Lions
4
3
Glenorchy Knights
Stuart Morse 3
Robert Riddell

Match report :

KLUSC 4 Knights 3

To say this was a game of two halves is an understatement, the first half was a shocker, with no one apart from Chris Gio trying to find anyone with a blue shirt on and Knights scoring 2 goals that were soft, but deserved.

Second half is where the game got interesting. We definately played with more passion and committment, however we did not play as well as we could in this one. The massive positive is that we scored 4 goals and got a result which did not look likely.

We had won a penalty and thought that it was not our day when Chris Gio had his kick saved and only about half an hour to go.

Up stepped Stu Morse to score a fairly clinical hat trick, clinical for Stu anyway. Two good finishes on an angle and a smashed ball down the middle to make it 4-3 at the end. It was 2 all and much to everyone's amazement it was a most unlikely saviour. Stu Morse crossed a ball from the left and found Rob Ridell (yes Rob) and he hit a ball better than he ever has to make it 3-2 and game on for the Lions.

This was not a pretty game, lets be honest the Showgrounds are not pretty at tall, but it was a great fightback, and with some more work on the pitch we can improve a lot. Well done to all 14 players for putting in and not giving up.
