Season's report

he under 12 "Reds" had another fantastic year following on from a great 2000. Despite some frustration of not always being able to get "on the park" due to the weather, the "Reds" showed again why they have built up a reputation for classy free-flowing soccer.

The "Reds" backline again showed why it has been compared with some international sides with the likes of Mathew Frodsham, Alex Hainsworth, Joshua Petrass and Damien Kozakiewicz proving a nightmare for opposition attacks. New recruits Jonathon Cracknell and Christopher Craven showed flexibility and consistency in sharing defensive and goal keeping duties with great aplomb.

A flashy and well drilled midfield provided great entertainment. The skillful plays of Jai McGow, James Huddleston, Charles Norris and Obie Neilson continued to dazzle opposition teams and spectators alike.

Up forward the "Reds" proved their potency in attack through some classic goals and wonderful team work. The team's forwards, in Stuart Morse, Chris Kozakiewicz, Robin McCarthy and new comer Damien Styles, peppered opposition goals and gave spectators value for money throughout the year.

The end of year BBQ reinforced to all that the team had some great wins and played some wonderful soccer in 2001, despite going down to the parents in the traditional "grudge" match. Again this year, the foundation of the team was the ongoing support of the parents and the enjoyment we all had off and on the field.

Thanks to all involved. Here's looking towards 2002.

Tim Denby - Coach
