Season's report

Well the year didn't start the best for the little guys - we got together for our first training session the night before our first game and unfortunately we were convincingly beaten by another Kingborough team. But that would be the only defeat for most of the season. The boys were training hard and in the following weeks showed that the future of Kingborough soccer is looking good with some convincing victories against Lenah Valley, Princes Street and Mount Stuart.

The highlight of the year for the boys was, I feel, the double page picture article in the Mercury which showed that it didn't matter how many goals you kicked or who won or lost - participation was the most important thing in Junior soccer.

I'd like to apologise to all the boys and the parents for the last couple of weeks of the season when, due to personal reasons and other commitments, I was unable to attend trainings and matches.

Finally a big thanks to Nick Dale for helping out through the year when I was unable to attend due to work and a huge thanks to the parents who put up with the cold mornings and nights taking the boys to trainings and the matches but most of all to all the boys thanks for a very enjoyable experience and I hope to see you all again next year.

Adam Powell
