Back (L to R): Front (L to R): Season's report This was my third year coaching a junior team and it was full of fun, enjoyment and satisfaction. The very wet winter meant that many games were cancelled and this interrupted the constant development but having said that I saw some remarkable changes in the kids from the start to the end of the season. They assembled in the usual mix of having played a fair bit to not being able to kick a ball very well. It was not long before their fine efforts got them all to an enjoyable level. Some kids came with plenty of practice behind them, such as Ben and Dylan. Other kids had played a bit but soon got a real idea of positions such as Pierre, Basi and Rudy. Other kids had not played very much but soon got the hang of it and these were Emily, Tyronne, Pat and Bradley. It was amazing that after a few games they became quite difficult to beat and they had a "never say die" attitude which was there to see on the last game when they were 1-4 down in the second half after being pushed around a bit. They stormed back to level it at 4-4 and only time stopped them from going on to win. Goals were well spread out with most players scoring but Dylan and Ben got quite a few goals between them. Everybody did very well in all positions and Emily excelled in goal when she had foot problems. We had quite a bit of illness that left us light on for substitutes in some games and we missed Basi for 5 games due to a broken arm. I hope the kids had fun and wish them the best for next year.
