Season's report

This was the first season of soccer for almost half of the team. This combined with the fact that the coach was also trying his hand at coaching for the first time resulted in a slow but enjoyable start to the season. Whilst the team had some heavy losses early in the season, the players retained their enthusiasm and towards the end of the season starting winning games. As the season unfolded it was fantastic to see the improvement and associated growth in confidence of all players.

On behalf of the team I would like to thank all parents and grandparents for their great support during the year, particularly those who participated in the orange and washing roster.

Team Profile: Aidan was the lynchpin of our defence. His great skills turned back many attacks. Brodie made a great midfielder and defender and set up many attacking moves. Cameron was probably the big improver from last year and set up some great attacks with his runs down the wing. Hamish showed us all what a terrific kick of the ball he is and demonstrated talent as a goal keeper. Jarrod showed great enthusiasm and insisted on playing even when he wasn't feeling one hundred percent. Matthew G was the team speedster and scored some great goals. Matthew B was our leading goal scorer and showed great talent as a goal sneak. Matthew R defended strongly and never stopped trying. Marcus set up many attacks with his skill and fitness in midfield. Owen always tried his hardest and came very close to scoring goals on a number of occasions. Sam showed us how versatile he can be and was able to play well in any position particularly goal keeping.
